Louisville pulling away, up 61-43 on USF
Rough sequence for USF here in the second half: Gus Gilchrist misses a dunk, Jesus Verdejo airballs a 3-pointer, then turnovers on the next two possessions, then Gilchrist blocked going for a dunk. As a result of lulls like that, Louisville has extended its lead to 61-43 on USF with 5:40 left to play in the Sun Dome.
B.J. Ajayi, after a scoreless half, is playing well, with eight points in the second half. Dominique Jones and Gilchrist have 11 points each, but none of the guards have shot particularly well. USF inexplicably continues to allow 6-foot-9 Earl Clark to get open looks at 3-pointers -- he now has 22 points after another trey.
Back to Where Are They Now: Remember former USF assistant Eric Wolford? The Bulls' offensive line coach from 1996-99 was on Ron Zook's staff at Illinois the last two years, but has just joined Steve Spurrier's staff at South Carolina.
