Miami Monsignor Pace's state-record 4-by-100 relay of Kayvon Webster, Sterling Griffin, Derrick Hopkins and Jeffrey Allen -- all headed to USF this fall to play football and run track -- will compete in the prestigious Golden South track meet in Orlando today.

Another future USF football player, Wesley Chapel's Kamran Joyer, will compete in the shot put. Joyer, who will be an offensive lineman at USF, won a state title in the shot at Wesley Chapel earlier this month.

Webster, Griffin and Hopkins signed football scholarships with USF in February, and Allen has accepted an invitation to be a walk-on with the Bulls. Webster and Allen will be cornerbacks at USF, while Griffin and Hopkins will be receivers.

Another future Bull competing in Orlando will be pole vaulter Mike Vani, who will take a track scholarship to USF this fall. Here's a story on him from Florida Today.
