USF's Guess leaves to be Cincy TEs coach
Lorenzo Guess, the former Michigan State two-sport star who came to USF in January as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, has left the Bulls to become tight ends coach at Cincinnati.
Guess, who had been reunited with former Spartans assistant Stan Heath in working with USF's men's basketball team, now moves to a Big East rival in joining Brian Kelly's staff. USF's first-year defensive coordinator, Joe Tresey, held the same job with the Bearcats the past two seasons, so there's an unusual amount of traffic between the two programs. Guess had worked as a program assistant with Cincinnati's football program in 2006.
USF announced Thursday that Graham Anderson, former head strength coach at Hartford, was returning to the Bulls and will work with both basketball teams.
