Season preview: Watch out for USF freshmen
The Times is running a different college football team's preview each day this week, and Monday's paper has the USF season preview, focusing on how a talented group of freshmen -- Lindsey Lamar, Kayvon Webster, Sterling Griffin and Sam Barrington, plus a few others -- could be the difference between good and great for the Bulls this fall.
There's a big photo of Lamar front and center on the Times' sports section (left, from the Times' Stephen J. Coddington) -- here's a link to the main story, along with a notebook looking at Matt Grothe's chances to break Big East records and George Selvie's secret to better footwork. The newspaper also has a position-by-position rundown of the Bulls this fall.
-- The Big East has its first coaches teleconference this morning, so we'll see if any news comes from that.
-- The Fort Myers News-Press also has its USF preview today, with a main story from Craig Handel that also ran in Florida Today. Handel also wrote a feature on senior safety Nate Allen.
-- For those of you who haven't made it to Moderntiredealer.com yet this morning, USF has picked up a sponsorship from Tire Choice.
