The fall season is officially underway, as USF's volleyball and women's soccer teams won their season openers on Friday, with volleyball sweeping Prairie View A&M in Miami and soccer getting a 1-0 win at home against Florida Atlantic.

-- More USF recruiting -- commitment Tiger Powell, the running back from Lake City Columbia, has made the Gainesville Sun's Super 11 of the area's top prospects. Interesting nugget from that story -- Powell's given name is ... Lavoris.
-- The Orlando Sentinel mentions USF in writing about college programs restricting access to practice.
