Not even close: Bulls outdrew Bucs by 12k
We asked the question Friday after USF drew an actual attendance of 55,073 for its game against No. 8 Cincinnati: Could the Bulls outdraw the Bucs this week?
Turns out it wasn't even close. According to the Tampa Sports Authority, the actual attendance for the Bucs' 28-21 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday was 42,847, meaning that USF drew 12,226 more fans to Raymond James Stadium on Thursday night.
The Bucs announced an attendance of 62,422 on Sunday, based on the number of tickets distributed; USF announced an attendance of 63,976 on Thursday by the same method. If you're doing the math, that means nearly 20,000 fans had tickets for the Bucs-Panthers game but opted not to attend ...
