Gransberry signs with D-League's Armor
Don't mean to take attention away from the USF-Rutgers fallout -- plenty more on that coming -- but we have an update on former Bulls center (I typed that as "former Bull scenter" initially) Kentrell Gransberry.
Gransberry is back for a second season in the NBA Development League, with camp starting Sunday with the Springfield Armor, a new D-League team relocated from Anaheim. Springfield is, of course, the birthplace of basketball, and while the Armor will play in Massachusetts, they're training in Connecticut, with their first game set for Nov. 27. Former Celtics guard Dee Brown is the coach.
Gransberry played for the Colorado 14ers (who have since moved to Frisco, Texas) last season, averaging 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in his first season playing pro basketball in the United States.
Half the fun of this blog is being able to post obscure random logos like this one -- I think they're going for an "Iron Man" type cool, but it comes off looking more like the "Iron Giant."
Now back to the USF-Rutgers commenting orgy already in progress -- more notes from the game coming soon.
