LB Wilson to play in East-West Shrine Game

USF senior linebacker Kion Wilson has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, becoming the second Bulls player invited to a postseason showcase game.

Wilson, who was the Big East defensive player of the week after his efforts in USF's 30-19 win against West Virginia, will be the fourth Bulls player in the Shrine Game in the past three seasons, joining Taurus Johnson (2009) and Trae Williams and Richard Clebert (2008).

The game is set for Jan. 23 in Orlando. USF safety Nate Allen has been invited to play in both the Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl a week later in Mobile, but hasn't committed to play in either game.

-- From the Cool Stat Dept., USF has figured out that Bulls quarterback B.J. Daniels has the highest yards-per-completion -- 17.1 yards -- of any quarterback nationally in the top 100 in passing efficiency. He also leads all freshmen quarterbacks nationally in rushing yards per game and is seventh among all quarterbacks in rushing.
