Could Jim Leavitt be headed to Oklahoma?

The Daily Oklahoman speculates on its Oklahoma Sooners blog that OU could be a landing spot for former USF football coach Jim Leavitt, though it refers to Leavitt as "radioactive." Certainly Leavitt would find a friendly faces in Sooners coach Bob Stoops and defensive coordinator Brent Venables, who both worked with Leavitt at Kansas State.

Acording to the Oklahoman, Stoops' first choice for defensive ends coach is Houston's Jim Jeffcoat, but it suggests that if Jeffcoat turns the job down Stoops might turn to former Texas Tech interim coach Ruffin McNeill or Leavitt. The blog points out that hiring Leavitt would be difficult given the circumstances of his firing from USF.
