Bulls send 6 to NFL combine, most in Big East
As expected, USF will have six former players participating in the NFL Combine from Feb. 24 to March 2 in Indianapolis, twice the total of any other Big East football team.
The six Bulls are safety Nate Allen, receiver Carlton Mitchell, cornerback Jerome Murphy, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, defensive end George Selvie and linebacker Kion Wilson. Mitchell and Pierre-Paul entered the draft as underclassmen.
The Big East will have 21 players in attendance -- the only other schools with so much as three players are Connecticut (DE Lindsey Witten, RB Andre Dixon, WR Marcus Easley) and West Virginia (WR Alric Arnett, QB Jarrett Brown, OT Selvish Capers).
Players' arrivals are staggered over four days, depending on their position. Mitchell is scheduled to arrive first on Feb. 25, then Pierre-Paul, Selvie and Wilson on Feb. 26, then Allen and Murphy in the final group on Feb. 27.
