Jones remains undecided about leaving for NBA
USF guard Dominique Jones came up short in his hopes of leading the
Bulls to the NCAA Tournament, but he said he still hasn't decided as to
whether he will return for his senior year or enter the NBA Draft.
"It's a lot of thinking. I wanted to take this team to the NCAA
Tournament," he said after scoring 21 points in a 69-49 loss to No. 22
Georgetown. "If it doesn't work out that way, I just have to weigh my
options."
Jones, a 6-foot-4 guard from Lake Wales, led the Big East in scoring
with 23.2 points per game in conference play and was named by league
coaches to the first-team All-Big East team. Wednesday's game had NBA
personnel in attendance, including Heat president Pat Riley, and Jones
said the prospect of playing at the next level has always intrigued him.
"I think about it all the time. That's your dream when you're a little kid,"
Jones said. "I'm taking everything day-by-day. The NBA is not going
anywhere. I feel like I'll just take my time and make my decision on
what I'm going to do, finish the year out here and just weigh my options."
