Armwood and Miami Central will have the strongest roster representation of any state high school when No. 13 UCF hosts No. 22 USF on Friday.
The Hawks and Rockets both will boast five alumni (including walk-ons) among the two teams. Surprisingly, Sickles is close behind with four players, same as Fort Lauderdale private-school dynasty St. Thomas Aquinas. Immokalee and Bradenton Manatee also have four alums each in this game, but all play for USF.
In all, the game will feature 189 Florida players (91 for UCF, 98 for the Bulls) representing 129 high schools. Twenty-six of them are bay area schools.
Which makes the significance of this game from a recruiting perspective sort of…umm…obvious.
"Both of us kind of battle and kind of go after the same guys, so it's really big 'cause we're both recruiting the same guys right now," USF coach Charlie Strong said. "So they're gonna be at the game, and they'll see the game and some of them will make a decision off of that game."
Here are the contest's most well-represented schools, with the list of players from each school.
