Anthony Collins 'committed' to USF
Speaking publicly for the first time since the end of the 2013-14 season, USF rising senior PG Anthony Collins said in a university-produced video he'll remain a Bull.
The future of Collins, limited to eight games last season with lingering knee problems, was the source of widespread offseason speculation that intensified as seven members of last season's team departed following the dismissal of Coach Stan Heath.
In the video, Collins put the speculation to rest.
"Yeah, I'm committed to staying at USF," said Collins, still awaiting word from the NCAA on the medical redshirt he requested following his abbreviated '13-14 season.
"I was on the (2012) team when we went to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in like, 20 years, and I want to do it again. I want to be the first person here to do it twice. That's what drives me."
As for the knee, Collins, who indicated he struggled to even walk at times last season, said he's "100 percent. I feel great and I can't wait to get back on the court..."
