Big East schools gather for last time before split

Greetings from Manhattan, where USF men's basketball will kick off the Big East tournament tonight at 7 against Seton Hall. Our advance in Tuesday's Times looks at the finality of this Big East tournament, as the end of an era as the league's teams are set to go in different directions this summer.

The league made official today the news that Notre Dame, too, is leaving the league in July to join the ACC in all sports except for football. That means the league will only have Louisville and Rutgers in limbo during the 2013-14 season, and those two will move on to the ACC and Big Ten, respectively, in summer 2014.
