Bulls dominate All-AAC men's golf honors
USF senior Aksel Olsen, individual medalist at last week's American Athletic Conference tournament, has been named the league's player of the year by its coaches.
Bulls coach Steve Bradley, whose squad begins play Monday in the NCAA's Albuquerque (N.M.) Regional, was named Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
A unanimous player of the year choice, Olsen shot a 7-under-par 209 to win the 54-hole AAC tourney -- held at Lecanto's Black Diamond Ranch -- by a stroke. The Bulls, who placed four individuals among the top six, won their third conference crown in four years with a wire-to-wire triumph at Black Diamond.
The individual victory was the second for Olsen, who has placed in the top 25 in all six of his spring events and enters the postseason with a 71 average.
Three other Bulls -- junior Rigel Fernandes, sophomore Claudio Correa and senior Chase Koepka -- made the 14-player all-conference team. Koepka and Correa were unanimous picks. All three have captured at least one individual title this season.
