Bulls place 13 alums on NFL rosters
Lots to get to in the aftermath of USF's stunning 53-21 loss to I-AA McNeese State on Saturday -- our first access to Willie Taggart since his postgame comments will be today's American Athletic Conference coaches teleconference, just after noon.
But in catching up on the weekend, it's worth noting that 13 former USF players have made 53-man rosters in the NFL after the weekend's final cuts. All three drafted USF rookies made the cut, and several Bulls have promising starts in new homes, like George Selvie in Dallas, Terrell McClain in Houston and Kion Wilson in Pittsburgh. Another name to keep an eye for in transactions is linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, who was among Minnesota's final cuts but should be able to land on another roster. This list doesn't include rookie DT Cory Grissom, who was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots after suffering a knee injury in the preseason.
The full 13: Nate Allen, S, Eagles; Sam Barrington, LB, Packers; B.J. Daniels, QB, 49ers; Mike Jenkins, CB, Raiders; Terrell McClain, DT, Texans; Jerome Murphy, CB, Redskins; Stephen Nicholas, LB, Falcons; Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, Giants; Mistral Raymond, S, Vikings; George Selvie, DE, Cowboys; Kayvon Webster, Broncos, CB; Jacquian Williams, LB, Giants; Kion Wilson, LB, Steelers.
