Blizzard strands USF women in Wisconsin

As if losing five of six games and putting a return trip to the NCAA Tournament in jeopardy weren't problems enough, USF's women's basketball team is stuck in Milwaukee, unable to fly out due to heavy snow after the team's loss to No. 19 Marquette on Saturday.

The team has an unusually quick turnaround, playing its final home game Monday against Seton Hall, only the second time since December they play two games in a three-day stretch. Instead of flying home after Saturday's loss, the Bulls remained in Milwaukee, unsure of whether they'd be able to fly out Sunday. The team had a practice scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday morning. Milwaukee got 7.4 inches of snow Saturday, the most for that date since 1881.

USF is considering taking its buses to Chicago and catching a Sunday night flight home from there, but the Bulls face the possibility of having to fly Monday, the day of a game that could determine whether they make a return to the NCAAs. Seton Hall comes in winners of nine of their last 10, making an impressive turnaround after opening league play 1-5.

Check back for updates and more on USF's women's team later tonight ...
