Bulls' Anderson nearly chose Temple, not USF

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- USF senior center Ron Anderson is more familiar with the Bulls' NCAA Tournament opponent for Friday night than most players, because three years ago, when he was transferring from Kansas State, his final decision came down to USF and Temple.

"I know the coaching staff at Temple and have a lot of respect for them. I love everything about Temple," said Anderson, the Bulls' most vocal leader in this historic season. "Even (Owls senior guard) Ramone Moore. He's a great player. He was my host when I went there."

Anderson said he expects a little more from the Owls on Friday night -- Temple's top scorers are guards, but the team has solid rebounders in 6-foot-11 Micheal Eric (8.8 rebounds per game) and 6-9 Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (6.5) to challenge him in the post.

"I 've got a history with Temple, and I know they're going to come out ready to play," Anderson said.
