Bulls lose Delray Beach CB Hosley to Hokies

Cornerback Jayron Hosley, said to be expected to sign with USF today, has instead opted to sign with Virginia Tech, the first surprise loss for the Bulls.

His coach at Delray Beach Atlantic, Andre Thaddies, had said Tuesday that Hosley was expected to sign with the Bulls. The word I'd gotten was that Hosley only visited Virginia Tech this past weekend because a relative had bought a companion ticket and he didn't want to waste that money by canceling, but it seems like the Hokies were able to parlay the last visit into a key signing.

Losing Hosley makes it all the more interesting to see if USF can somehow get Miami Pace's Kayvon Webster out of his previous commitment to Miami, which still seems unlikely. We should know in an hour or so ...

USF's official site is now confirming 15 signings, with defensive ends Demi Thompson and Ryne Giddins and defensive tackles Leslie Stirrups and Khyri Thornton and offensive tackle Carlos Savala joining the list ...
