Bulls, Storm WR Whittaker signs with San Jose
Arena Football free agency! Former USF receiver Huey Whittaker, who returned to Tampa for a strong season with the Storm in 2011, has signed a new deal with the San Jose SaberCats.
"Huey Whittaker has been productive in the AFL for a number of seasons now," SaberCats head coach Darren Arbet said in a statement. "He's earned All-Arena recognition and he is the sort of big, strong and physical receiver we are looking to add to our team in 2012."
Whittaker, has averaged 132 catches for 1,533 yards and 32 touchdowns over his past three seasons, and San Jose will be his fourth Arena team since 2008, joining Utah, Spokane and Tampa Bay. The Springstead graduate, who last played at USF in 2003, spent time with the UFL's Florida Tuskers and Virginia Destroyers as well.
