Bulls survive Stetson in double OT
USF went 7-for-9 at the line in double overtime, surviving a potentially disastrous scare by outlasting Stetson 77-72 on Monday night. The Hatters hadn't won in Tampa since 1979, but the Bulls escaped, helped by freshman Solomon Bozeman's 15-for-16 effort at the line.
Of course, Big East teams have no business being in double overtime with the Stetsons of the world, but it's the kind of game the Bulls lost last season, so they'll take an ugly win. Melvin Buckley had 29 points and McHugh Mattis, after scoring two in the first half, played huge, going the final 19 minutes with four fouls and scoring 20.
