Charity event boasts Atkins, Jenkins, Amarri
Bulls fans and autograph seekers can catch a great collection of talent in Lakewood Ranch tonight as Cardinals cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie hosts the first-ever Celebrity Basketball Slam Jam at Lakewood Ranch High, according to the Sarasota Herald Tribune's Alan Dell.
Among the USF names slated to attend and show off their basketball skills: NBA standout Chucky Atkins, Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins and just-recently-released Bucs receiver Amarri Jackson, who played basketball at Hillsborough Community College before he played football at USF.
Lots of other big names, including new Bucs tight end Kellen Winslow and the Nuggets' Renaldo Balkman. Tickets can be purchased at any Boys and Girls Club in Manatee County for $15 in advance, or for $20 at the door.

We've pointed out that the four big preseason magazines on newsracks have picked four different teams to win the Big East, and the Louisville Courier-Journal's Rick Bozich has figured out the aggregate rankings: USF would be picked to finish fifth.
