Check here for bowl news today ...

Should be lots of bowl news coming today, starting with BCS bowl teams being released this afternoon, which will pave the way for the Sun Bowl to announce USF's opponent, which is all but officially Oregon.

With Ohio State moving into the national title game and Hawaii rallying to win late Saturday night, it now looks like Arizona State will not earn a BCS at-large berth, with the Rose taking Illinois from the Big Ten as an at-large instead. That puts Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl, and would logically have Oregon State lined up for the Sun. The Beavers were in El Paso last season, however, and Sun selection committee president John Folmer said he expected his committee to pass on a repeat selection and choose Oregon as its Pac-10 team. That would put Oregon State in the Emerald Bowl in San Francisco against an ACC opponent.

Picking Oregon would follow the Sun Bowl's Big East decision last week: Seeing two teams with identical overall records, but looking past the head-to-head result to pick the team ranked higher and a better match for the bowl's best interests. Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?
