Close again: Bulls fall 62-59 at W. Virginia
With Dominique Jones scoring 35 points -- his most ever in a Big East game -- USF cut a 14-point halftime deficit to as little as one in the closing minutes, but West Virginia escaped with a 62-59 victory against the Bulls on Saturday afternoon. Here's the play-by-play -- we'll have a story shortly.
USF's women weren't nearly as close, taking a humbling 32-point loss at Pittsburgh, 79-47, to drop to 1-4 in the Big East. The Bulls continue to struggle with perimeter shooting, hitting just 2 of 19 3-point attempts. Forward Porche Grant had 11 points and 11 rebounds as the only USF player scoring in double digits.
