Collins' late shot pushes Bulls past Rutgers, 67-65
Freshman point guard Anthony Collins went the length of the court and hit a layup and free throw with 12 seconds left to give USF a wild 67-65 win against Rutgers on Sunday afternoon at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
Collins, who had a season-high 10 assists and finished with seven points, hit his shot to put USF ahead, and Rutgers freshman Eli Carter, who had a game-high 23 points, saw his shot miss at the buzzer to preserve the Bulls victory. USF (8-7, 1-1) got 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting from senior forward Ron Anderson, helping win a game that had eight lead changes in the final 2:34.
