Early notes: Forte, Lattimore not dressed

Greetings from Raymond James Stadium, where USF and Wofford are 75 minutes away from opening their seasons. We'll try to put the in-game notes on the live blog, but we'll chime in with a few early things here.

The official uniform of players not playing is a jersey top and khaki shorts, which is code for an injury or "probably headed for a redshirt this season." Among the most notable players not dressed are freshman defensive lineman Julius Forte, who may sit out this year if only because of the depth ahead of him, and linebacker DeDe Lattimore, who's in the same position.

Looks like they're not dressing some of the obvious third-team types -- safety Charlton Sinclair and offensive linemen Josh Garvin and Jatavious Jackson aren't dressed, even though this is a game where there could be room for liberal substitutions.

Other scholarship players not dressed are not surprised -- running back Bradley Battles, offensive linemen Steve Jacques and John McGhin and defensive linemen Luke Sager and Demi Thompson. Sager has his left hand in a cast, so it looks as if he's had the surgery Jim Leavitt had mentioned him getting a few weeks back.
