Eriksen gets 600th win with USF softball

USF softball coach Ken Eriksen picked up his 600th career win Saturday as the Bulls snapped a four-game losing streak with a 13-5 win against Florida A&M. USF (13-12) struck for eight runs in the first inning, three o on a base-loaded triple by Tara Toscano.

The Bulls wrap up this weekend's tournament in Clearwater with two games Sunday, facing Towson at 10 a.m. and Florida State at 1 p.m.

USF's baseball team also bounced back with a win Saturday, helped by nine strikeouts by pitcher Andrew Barbosa, who picked up his first career victory in a 5-3 win against Mercer. Freshman designated hitter Jimmy Falla had his first career home run and was one of three Bulls with two hits. USF (6-13) will close the series Sunday at 10 a.m. -- the first pitch was moved up in anticipation of bad weather coming in the afternoon.
