Former USF running back Andre Hall has been released by the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks, who start their first season this week.

Hall, who was excused for personal reasons two weeks ago, joined the team just before the Nighthawks signed former Ohio State standout Maurice Clarett. Hall, who holds many of USF's rushing and scoring records, has been out of football since he was cut by the NFL's Houston Texans last year.

Hall's release leaves the Bulls with four players in the UFL -- guard Frank Davis with Las Vegas, receiver Taurus Johnson in Hartford and receiver Huey Whittaker and safety J.R. Reed with the Florida Tuskers. Whittaker had one catch for 9 yards and Reed had two tackles in the Tuskers' season-opening win against Las Vegas this weekend; Johnson had one catch for 17 yards in his UFL debut.
