Ex-Bulls star guard Dominique Jones out with a stress fracture in foot

Former USF star guard Dominique Jones is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his right foot, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Jones, who declared for the NBA draft after his junior season with the Bulls last year, had played 18 games with the Dallas Mavericks this season, averaging 2.3 points. In 10 games with the Texas Legends of the D-League, Jones had 18.7 ppg, 5.2 rebounds and five assists.

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle confirmed the news earlier this week to local reporters, saying surgery is a possible option.

"He was progressing very well and working extremely hard, and that's why this happened," Carlisle told the Dallas Morning News. "He was really going hard. It's a tough break for him and us because we obviously want him on the floor getting better and have him available to play if needed."

Here's the full story.
