Jim Fee, USF's men's golf coach since 1996, is leaving that job and moving into a new role as USF's director of athletic events and championships. USF finished 11th out of 12 schools in this year's Big East tournament, matching its lowest showing in five years in the conference.

"I am very pleased that Jim will join our administrative team," athletic director Doug Woolard said in a statement. "He has served the university extremely well as our head men's golf coach. ... Jim has been considering a transition into athletics administration for some time, and I'm delighted that he chose this opportunity."

Fee replaces Tom Buscemi, who has resigned and is moving to Colorado to work in the hospitality industry. USF's release said a nationwide search for a new men's golf coach will now begin.

Fee himself was an All-American at USF, playing during a run of 11 straight Sun Belt championships from 1979-89. The Bulls haven't found the same success in larger conferences, with their best finish in the Big East a fourth-place showing in 2006, their first year in the league.

Fee was the second-most tenured head coach in USF's athletic department -- only men's tennis coach Don Barr, who has coached since 1992, was coaching longer. Softball coach Ken Eriksen is next with 14 seasons, having started as head coach with the 1997 season.
