Fernandez signs No. 20 recruiting class

The weekly USF notebook in Wednesday's Times has recruiting news for USF's women's basketball team, which has signed four players during the early signing period, talented enough that the Bulls are ranked as the nation's No. 20 recruiting class by Blue Star Basketball Report.

The newest addition is the highest-rated of the group: Jasmine Wynn, a 5-foot-7 point guard from Jacksonville University Christian rated as the No. 29 prospect in the nation by Blue Star. As previously reported here, the class also includes twin guards Andrea and Andrell Smith of Lakeland Lake Gibson, and forward Tawatha Tucker of Fayetteville, N.C.

The Bulls have only two seniors on roster this season in starting forward ChiChi Okpaleke and backup guard Daiane Packer, but USF had two additional scholarships available after center Stephanie Sarosi transferred to Nova Southeastern and guard Jessica Jackson transferred to Western Carolina.
