First look: FINISH STRONG carries on
USF's football players had a surprise waiting at their lockers when they returned from Monday afternoon's practice: each had a FINISH STRONG bracelet, a reminder of their adopted mantra for this season.
The inspiration came from USF alum Jeff Wagner, a 44-year-old battling leukemia who was released from Moffitt Cancer Center on Saturday after undergoing a bone-marrow transplant. The two-word phrase helped carry the Bulls to their 26-23 overtime upset at Auburn two weeks ago, and now it'll be with them when they take the field Saturday against North Carolina.
USF has no plans to produce the wristbands for public sale, but don't be surprised if they're available locally. I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything ...
