Frankly impressive: Davis makes Lions' cut
USF will have one more player among its alumni in the NFL this season, as former Bulls guard Frank Davis, undrafted this spring, has made the final roster of the Detroit Lions.
“I’m really impressed with this young man,” Lions coach Rod Marinelli told Detroitlions.com. “One, there’s a guy that’s 326 pounds who's strapped up. He’s in great physical condition. All he’s done is work and improve and knock people down. The best way to say it is that he’s knocked people on their back. He is a hungry man.”
Just for some perspective: Davis made the roster, while receiver Charles Rogers -- the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft -- didn't.
