Freshman Marc to get first look at safety
USF's incoming freshman officially report for preseason camp today at 4 p.m., with the Bulls' first practice coming Thursday afternoon. One of the most versatile of USF's freshmen, Hallandale's Victor Marc, generally seen as a quarterback or receiver, will get his first look at safety this fall.
Marc, 5-foot-11 and 208 pounds, played primarily at quarterback at Hallandale, though he played running back in a recruiting showcase game and was rated by ESPN.com as the nation's No. 19 running back. He was initially expected to get his first look as a slot receiver, but he'll be a safety on Thursday.
Two of USF's freshman defensive backs may be limited initially as they return from surgery -- Ricardo Dixon, Marc's teammate at Hallandale, is recovering from shoulder surgery, while JaQuez Jenkins, a safety from Lakewood High, is coming back from knee surgery last fall.
