Greyshirt offers go elsewhere

USF had enough talented recruits wanting to sign that the Bulls were offering "greyshirts" -- the trendy new term for deferred enrollments who come in the following January -- to several prospects. Two of them, not wanting to wait a semester before starting their college football careers, opted for smaller schools willing to bring them in this fall.

First is Cape Coral running back Rickey Anderson Jr., who had committed to USF a while back, only to remember that the Bulls hadn't offered him a scholarship. The Bulls offered him a greyshirt, but he opted to sign with I-AA The Citadel. Another recruit the Bulls were hoping to get in January, Pensacola kicker Michael Taylor, opted to sign with Troy today rather than take a deferred enrollment at USF.

Again, neither looked to be a major priority in the Bulls' recruiting needs, but wanted to get in updates on who was going where ...
