Guard Stokes suspended from USF basketball

November

USF senior guard Janae Stokes, who led the nation in 3-pointers last season, has been indefinitely suspended from the team for an unspecified violation of team rules.

The Bulls won in Los Angeles on Friday, beating Montana without Stokes, who is tied for the team's scoring lead, averaging 16.0 points per game. Through five games, Stokes has hit half of the Bulls' 32 3-pointers.

USF is already playing without one key starter, as senior forward Porche Grant, the team's leading rebounding last season, is sitting out this season due to personal reasons.

Check back this afternoon, as Times writer Joey Knight will have a live blog from today's USF-Miami football game at 3:30.
