Heath's first practice open to public next week
You'd think the night before an expected sellout and early kickoff against Central Florida, USF would want to piggyback off the frenzied following for Bulls football with a Midnight Madness kind of event, but it'll be a more low-key opening to the Stan Heath era, with the men's basketball team's first practice simply open to the public from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. next Friday night.
"We anxiously look forward to the start of practice," Heath said in a statement. "We have made strides in our preseason with skill development and strength gains. With several new players adapting to high-level basketball and the implementation of a fast-tempo approach, we realize the work in front of our team. We expect intense and high-energy practices each time we take the court."
USF opens its season with a home exhibition against Saint Leo at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, with the regular-season opener at home Nov. 9 against Cleveland State. And don't get us started on "anxious" vs. "eager."
