Huge game for Gransberry in loss

USF's men's basketball season is over, as the Bulls lost their seventh straight game, at DePaul on Saturday. Junior center Kentrell Gransberry, finishing his first season in the Big East on a ridiculous tear, went for a career-high 26 points and 23 rebounds.

The rebounding figure matches the second-best total by any player in the NCAA this season -- ties some kid named Kevin Durant -- and matches the most in a major conference, as the only better total was a 25-board night from High Point's Arizona Reid on Feb. 24.

Senior forward Melvin Buckley, continuing a rough shooting stretch to finish the season, missed all eight of his attempts, going scoreless in his final college game in his hometown. Senior forward McHugh Mattis got one block to break Gerrick Morris' school record with 109 blocks this season.

USF's women lead by 12 points midway through the second half in what would be a huge victory, likely sending Jose Fernandez's team to a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
