It's official: FSU 'whiteout' for USF game
Florida State made it official on Tuesday, announcing that the Seminoles' Sept. 26 football game against USF will be a "whiteout," with all-white uniforms for the first time and fans at Doak Campbell Stadium wearing white T-shirts.
It's familiar territory for USF, which got the whiteout treatment at West Virginia last season, which coincided with quarterback Pat White's final game in Morgantown. FSU's Caz Piurowski, who I covered when he was a stud freshman first baseman at Land O'Lakes High, is seen modeling the all-white uniform, which to be fair actually has red numbers.
I'm not entirely sure what correct style is on whiteout -- I'm thinking one word, no hyphen, just because that's what you do with blackout or, in utility jargon, brownout. FSU is using a hyphen. This should not be confused with "Whiteout," an Antarctic-based movie due out Sept. 11 and starring the lovely Kate Beckinsale, and also shouldn't be confused with Wite-Out, which has come to be used for nearly all brands of "correction fluid."
