Julius Allen hired at Binghamton
Former USF assistant coach Julius Allen, the New York recruiter whose preferences never meshed with head coach Robert McCullum's, is back in college basketball, hired Monday as an assistant at Binghamton University in his home state, according to the Press & Sun-Bulletin of Binghamton.
Allenhas joined the staff of former Georgetown assistant Kevin Broadus, who will lead the Bearcats in the America East Conference.
In other basketball news, Chipola College coach Greg Heiar will interview Thursday with USF coach Stan Heath for one of two remaining positions on his Bulls staff. Heiar has found great success in his short time at Chipola, consistently producing Division I signees liike 6-foot-7 forward Victor Dubovitsky, who we told you about last week. Dubovitsky has not scheduled any visits but continues to have USF among the schools he's considering, Heiar said Monday.
