LB McKenzie will play in 2007

COURTSIDE AT DUKE-NCSU -- We interrupt the ACC Tournament game already in progress for an important update: USF got great news from the NCAA on Thursday, learning that linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, a transfer from Iowa State, has been granted a hardship waiver that will allow him to play for the Bulls in 2007.

McKenzie had 129 tackles for Iowa State last season, good enough to rank in the top 10 nationally, and the former Riverview standout can now be penciled in as a starter at one of the outside linebacker positions. Linebacker is a key position for USF, which lost seniors Stephen Nicholas and Patrick St. Louis from the 2006 team.
