Links, notes and one more USF-FSU video
Lots to get to, but first, USF athletics has posted a cool new video with unseen footage from the sidelines of USF's 17-7 win at then-No. 18 Florida State on Saturday.
-- ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel picks up on Jim Leavitt's decision to not run a scout team and have mostly second-stringers simulating opponents during game preparation, an idea he picked up during a late-summer visit to Washington and coach Steve Sarkisian.
-- Former USF star Mike Jenkins, who got the Cowboys' first interception in their new stadium Monday night, is officially a full-time starter for Dallas, the Dallas Morning News writes.
-- The Daily Orange up in Syracuse has a long feature on USF's George Selvie, noting that his high school coach, the oft-quoted Jerry Pollard, is a Duke basketball fan, but he'd be fine if Greg Paulus were sacked "nine times" on Saturday.
-- Worth noting that technically USF has faced a Paulus at quarterback before -- brother Mike was redshirting as a true freshman at North Carolina when the Bulls beat UNC in 2007. Not sure whether Paulus made that trip with the Tar Heels or not ...
-- The Orlando Sentinel's Chris Harry writes about Saturday's win and its potential impact on USF recruiting.
-- ESPN.com's Brian Bennett, making his weekly picks, has USF winning a close one at Syracuse, 24-21.
