Live blog: Bulls seek 2nd win vs. DePaul

Greetings from the Sun Dome, where USF is hoping to beat DePaul for the second time in 10 days. A lot of the focus today has been on the ongoing saga with former offensive coordinator Greg Gregory, but for the next two hours, we'll focus on basketball and a rare Big East game where USF can be expected to win.

Senior guard Jesus Verdejo, who suffered a concussion in Saturday's loss at West Virginia, did not start for the first time this season, with freshman point guard Justin Leemow starting in his place. Another freshman, forward Gus Gilchrist, was in the starting lineup as well, along with forward Aris Williams, who played well at West Virginia.

After the first media timeout, USF leads DePaul 8-4, with all eight points coming from sophomore guard Dominique Jones. Leemow has already picked up two fouls, so we'll see a lot of freshmen B.J. Daniels and Gaby Belardo tonight as well.

-- Football update: As we mentioned this morning, Miami defensive coordinator Bill Young has taken the same job at Oklahoma State, leaving the Hurricanes without either coordinator two weeks before signing day. Again, this could help the Bulls as they target players considering the Hurricanes in the Miami area.
