Mitchell out for Pitt game; punt return wide-open

USF coach Skip Holtz said he "certainly doesn't see" sophomore receiver Terrence Mitchell playing in Thursday's game at Pittsburgh after suffering a concussion in Saturday's win against UTEP, leaving the Bulls' punt-return job open this week.

Holtz had sent junior Evan Landi out to field a punt in the closing minutes Saturday after Mitchell's injury -- UTEP ended up not punting -- but Holtz said that was more a case of Landi being his most sure-handed option, joking that he calls the tight end "Fair Catch Landi."

Holtz offered up three other names as options for the punt-return duties -- junior Victor Marc, who had a 67-yard touchdown run Saturday; true freshman Andre Davis, who returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against Florida A&M; and sophomore receiver Stephen Bravo-Brown.

The Bulls have struggled on punt returns this season -- Mitchell had a 34-yard return against Notre Dame, but his other 12 returns have totaled just 33 yards.
