More links on bowl win, hoops' loss at UConn
Back home in Tampa and catching up on links I really should have posted last year, or last night anyway. Have to start with men's basketball nearly pulling off what would have been the biggest upset in school history, taking No. 4 Connecticut to overtime in Hartford before falling 66-61 in the extra session. Huskies coach Jim Calhoun called Augustus Gilchrist "one of the best big guys in the country," but Stan Heath said his team still needs a leader to carry it down the stretch of close games the Bulls keep losing.
Back to Charlotte, columnist Gary Shelton writes on Skip Holtz's first season and how, much like the Bulls' bowl win, it was mostly very positive and encouraging for the future. And correspondent Kerry Klecic writes about the Bulls' defense keeping Clemson in check, for at least 58 minutes anyway.
