Motivational speaker to visit USF football team
Kevin Saunders, a Kansas State graduate who has served on the two President's Councils on Physical Fitness, will give a motivational speech about breaking barriers and overcoming adversity to USF's football team on Wednesday, the same day incoming players report to campus.
Saunders, who was paralyzed from the chest down in a grain elevator explosion, worked as a motivational coach for Kansas State football when USF coach Jim Leavitt was an assistant there in the early 1990s. Saunders has pushed his wheelchair more than 2,500 miles across America and through five countries in Europe while promoting health and fitness.
