Moving up: Jones a first-rounder, says ESPN
We're now just eight days away from the NBA draft, and former USF guard Dominique Jones has convinced another expert he's a first-round pick. ESPN.com's Chad Ford, who left Jones out of the first round on his first four mock drafts, now has Jones going No. 25 to the Memphis Grizzlies.
"Jones was one of the best scorers in college basketball last season, but that's not why the Grizzlies will be in the hunt for him," Ford writes in making the pick. "A number of teams, including Memphis, believe he could also play the point. With the Grizzlies still less than confident in Mike Conley, that's the appeal."
Ford isn't the only pundit picking Jones for the first round -- Mike McGrath, writing for Yahoo Sports, has Jones going No. 23 to the Timberwolves.
Jones has just two personal workouts left -- back with the Nets (27th) and Jazz, who have the ninth overall pick in the draft.
