USF football has released a new official depth chart, which reflects the lineup after the second scrimmage, largely as it will be going into next week's opener against I-AA Stony Brook. A few quick observations before practice:

-- Competition at cornerback is deadlocked, with senior Mistral Raymond and junior Quenton Washington listed as co-starters on one side and sophomores Kayvon Webster and George Baker the same way at the other corner spot.

-- (CORRECTED) Redshirt freshman Bradley Battles, making a charge after a strong scrimmage Saturday, is now listed as a co-starter with senior Mo Plancher and ahead of sophomore Demetris Murray.

-- Redshirt freshman DeDe Lattimore is listed as the starting weakside linebacker, ahead of senior Sabbath Joseph, who has missed much of the past week recovering from a concussion. Sophomore Mike Lanaris remains the starting middle linebacker, ahead of sophomore Sam Barrington, who has been limited by off-field problems and a lingering shoulder injury.

-- Walk-on freshman Bobby Eveld is listed as the top backup to starter B.J. Daniels, ahead of true freshman Jamius Gunsby.

-- Senior walk-on Eric Schwartz, who has been limited by a hip injury, is still listed as the starting kicker and kickoff specialist ahead of sophomore Maikon Bonani.

-- The second-team offensive line has seen a shift, with guard Danous Estenor now the second-team center and Kevin McCaskill now listed as a second-team guard. True freshman Quinterrious Eatmon is listed as the second-team right tackle.

-- Senior Kevin Gidrey, the transfer from East Carolina, is the top tight end, with sophomore Andreas Shields and senior Andrew Ketchel as the top backups. Sophomore Jeff Hawkins, who entered the fall as a starting tight end, is listed as a backup fullback.
