New mocks put Jenkins 17th, 20th

Another week closer to the NFL Draft, another round of mock first rounds with more speculation as to where former USF cornerback Mike Jenkins will land.

The newest offering from's Mel Kiper Jr. has Jenkins going 20th to the Bucs, while the same site's Todd McShay puts Jenkins 17th with the Vikings, where he probably wouldn't start as a rookie. ESPN's SportsNation fan mock draft also has Jenkins staying in Tampa with the 20th pick.

Again, cornerback may be the draft's trickiest position to evaluate -- Kiper has Kansas' Aqib Talib going seventh, with Troy's Leodis McKelvin falling to 16th; McShay has McKelvin seventh and Talib going after Jenkins at 18th. McShay has Tennessee State's Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie going 16th, Kiper has him 10th. There's not a whole lot of difference among the four, but there's likely a huge difference in the signing bonus between the first cornerback taken and the fourth.

The Pro Sports Xchange's newest mock has Jenkins going 23rd to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
