No Big East team in Coaches Poll; USF gets votes
USF picked up 12 votes in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll, giving the Bulls an unofficial ranking of 34th and making them the highest-ranked team coming off a losing season in 2011.
There are no Big East teams in the initial coaches poll, with Louisville just missing at 27th and Cincinnati close behind at 29th. West Virginia, which left the Big East to join the Big 12 this season, checks in at No. 11, and Florida State, which comes to Tampa to play the Bulls on Sept. 29, is 7th.
Here's a link to the full poll. USF's Skip Holtz is again one of four Big East coaches with ballots in the poll, joining Cincinnati's Butch Jones, Rutgers' Kyle Flood and UConn's Paul Pasqualoni. In the state, Florida State's Jimbo Fisher, Miami's Al Golden and UCF's George O'Leary are also voters.
